Environment Canada issued a winter storm watch for the capital today as we can expect to see anywhere from 25 to 35 cm of snow Tuesday and carrying into Wednesday. Just when you thought the city of Ottawa has gotten enough snow as it is, be prepared for much more.

According to CBC, there will be no strike on Monday morning from government employees in the Northwest Territories. Although the government of Northwest Territories and the Union of Northern Workers have yet to reach a deal, the two parties have agreed to bind to recommendations set by mediator Vince Ready. The strike was projected to impact roughly 4,000 unionized employees. In a release by Vince Ready on Sunday, Ready explained that the recommendations could take up to 30 days.

In an article from CBC, Minnesota Senator, Amy Klobuchar, has announced her bid for the 2020 U.S. elections. Klobuchar, a three-time term Democratic Senator, has seen support come in from counties U.S. President Donald Trump managed to win in the 2016 election. Klobuchar had campaigned with Democrats last fall in the state of Iowa and spoke to progressive farmers and activists in December about bridging the divide for urban and rural areas.
