Man injured as a result of Murray Street stabbing

According to CBC News, a 44-year old man has been seriously injured after a Friday evening stabbing in the Lowertown neighbourhood of Ottawa.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is now in critical but stable condition.

Police have arrested a 35-year old suspect, and they say that the two men knew each other prior to the stabbing.

According to CTV News, Global Affairs Canada has been made aware of Canadian citizens in Syria near the Iraq border.

CNN reported that it had interviewed two Canadian women who had fled an ISIS-held village in eastern Syria, Baghouz. The women reportedly spoke fluent english, and had travelled from Toronto and Alberta at their husbands’ demands.

Despite limited consular resources in Syria, Global Affairs Spokesperson Richard Walker said that the Government of Canada is actively trying to assist in locating the Canadian women.

According to CNN, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren has officially launched her 2020 U.S. presidential campaign as a candidate for the Democratic party.

Warren officially made the announcement at a rally in Lawrence, Mass. by calling out powerful corporate giants and re-affirming her support for those negatively affected by economic inequality.

Warren makes the announcement after undergoing controversy in 2018 for her past claims of Native American heritage.
