  • Actually, we need less programs like this. What we need is college environments that truly included individuals with intellectual disabilities, making them authentic participants and contributors, rather than a stigmatized side show. Inclusive education is being pursued worldwide and at all levels, and ultimately the elimination of all “special education” will be one of the indicators that we have moved beyond any archaic system of segregation.
